Three organisations selected to develop Flow Coaching Academy franchises
9th November 2017
Following a competitive process, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals FT is delighted to announce the next 3 organisations to join the Flow Coaching Academy (FCA) programme supported by a grant from The Health Foundation. They will be joining the 4 organisations already involved in the programme; FCA Sheffield and FCA Bath, with FCA Imperial and FCA Northumbria launching early in 2018. The programme aims to develop a social franchise of 12 Flow Coaching Academies across the UK by 2020.
The selected organisations will send 3 pairs of staff to be trained as Flow Coaches at FCA Sheffield over a one year action learning course. Pairs of coaches will set up ‘Big Rooms’ to facilitate staff to improve care across a condition based pathway. Following this, each organisation will be supported to open a local Flow Coaching Academy franchise training between 24-30 Flow Coaches per year.
The programme has received expert consultancy from the International Centre for Social Franchising and is being independently evaluated by RAND Europe.
The 3 organisations hosting the next wave of Flow Coaching Academies in 2018 are:
- Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust
- University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust
- Western Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland
The next round of recruitment to the programme will commence in July 2018.
